The Ha Giang Hotel is very new, clean, comfortable and affordable, with two styles of rooms on offer. (1x double bed = 300k or 2x double bed = 450k). The hotel provides covered and gated parking for motorcycles (parking next door for other vehicles), a large foyer and reception area (with comfortable lounge seating for guests and a refrigerator with cold drinks for sale), free WiFi throughout, and an elevator to access the floors. The rooms are spacious (especially the 1x double rooms) and are well equipped and furnished. They contain a Smart TV (Netflix is available, but you may have to update or install it...I had to set it up both times I stayed here in different rooms), a small refrigerator, air-conditioning, wall-mounted fan, kettle, hair dryer and a padded stool. The mattresses on the beds are all medium/soft foam versions, and are quite comfortable (not too hard) - allowing a good night's sleep. Each room has a private bathroom which are all spacious, clean, modern and providing a very good supply of hot water, and containing an ok selection of complimentary products. The shower (a multi optioned unit) and toilet are separate by a sliding glass door from the wash basin area, and all very functional. Apart from a bit of traffic noise during the daylight hours, the place is very quiet at night even though it's on the main highway. (NB; Google Maps has the correct area, but locates the hotel on the wrong side of the road!). At the moment they are building something on the 3rd floor, but the construction noise does not start too early and doesn't finish too late....surprisingly reasonable for Vietnam. Although the hotel is located several kilometres from the city centre, I don't think that this will inconvenience anyone as I'm sure most patrons that stay here are travelling with their own transportation. However, if you don't want to drive/ride into the city there are a few local places to eat (small quans and roadside vendors), several coffee/tea outlets and a couple of local convenience shops (tap hoa's). Noteworthy, is that there's a petrol station very close by, too. Overall, I enjoyed my first experience staying here, that I stayed again on my way back to DaLat (visa run to Moc Bai / Krong Bavet border). The manager was also kind enough to allow my small pet dog to stay with me in the room (for a small additional fee = 50k) during both my visits.
